Total Quality Management, Organizational Culture, and Organizational Performance: A Study of Upscale Hotels in Bangladesh
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study examines the relationship between Total Quality Management, organizational culture, and organizational performance in the upscale hotel industry in Bangladesh. To achieve this objective, data were collected through a self-administered questionnaire survey from 125 respondents, including owners, managers, and departmental heads of upscale hotels. Data were collected online and face-to-face. The study used a convenience sampling approach because no complete sampling frame was available. The responses from hotel owners, managers, and departmental heads helped capture the practical context in which Total Quality Management practices and a quality-oriented organizational culture operate in upscale hotels in Bangladesh. The proposed relationships were examined using reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The findings reveal statistically significant and strong positive relationships among Total Quality Management, organizational culture, and organizational performance. Finally, this study contributes to academic understanding of how Total Quality Management and organizational culture are associated with organizational performance in upscale hotels, while also offering practical insights for hotel owners, managers, and departmental heads concerned with improving performance through quality-oriented management practices.
