Earlier Articles and Archives

The journal transitioned to fully open-access publishing from Volume 10, Issue 1 (June 2024). The CC BY-NC 4.0 license does not automatically apply to articles published before that issue.

Earlier articles remain subject to their original copyright notices and applicable reuse terms. Where earlier articles are available to read or download free of charge, that availability alone does not grant an open license. Reuse must comply with the terms stated in the individual article. Where the intended reuse is not permitted by those terms or by law, permission must be obtained from the relevant copyright holder.

Key Features of the License

The following terms apply to articles published from June 2024 onward that are covered by CC BY-NC 4.0.

1. Attribution

• Users must give appropriate credit to the original author(s) and acknowledge the original publication in the Bangladesh Journal of MIS.
• Users must provide a link to the license and indicate whether changes were made to the content.
• Attribution must be provided in a reasonable manner and must not imply endorsement by the author(s) or the journal.

2. NonCommercial Use Only

The license permits users to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format and to remix, transform, and build upon it for noncommercial purposes. Commercial reuse requires separate permission from the relevant copyright holder unless otherwise permitted by law.

3. No Additional Restrictions

Users may not impose additional legal or technological restrictions that prevent others from exercising the rights granted under CC BY-NC 4.0.

Author Rights

For articles published from Volume 10, Issue 1 (June 2024) onward:

• Authors retain copyright in their work.
• Authors grant the Bangladesh Journal of MIS (BJMIS) the right to publish their articles under CC BY-NC 4.0.
• Authors may deposit and share their published articles in institutional or subject repositories, on personal websites, or through other platforms without an embargo, in accordance with the license and with appropriate attribution.

Copyright ownership and author sharing rights for earlier articles are governed by the original publication agreements and applicable article notices.

Third-Party Material and License Scope

The journal’s CC BY-NC 4.0 policy applies to articles published from June 2024 onward. It does not automatically apply to earlier articles, website design, or other website material.

Third-party material, including images, tables, and datasets, in articles covered by this policy is included under the article’s CC BY-NC 4.0 license unless a credit line indicates otherwise. For material excluded from the license, users must obtain permission from the relevant copyright holder if their intended use is not permitted by law.

Authors must ensure that any third-party material included under the article’s license may lawfully be licensed on those terms. Material subject to different reuse conditions must be clearly identified in a credit line.

How to Attribute

When reusing articles covered by CC BY-NC 4.0, include the author(s), article title, journal details, DOI or article URL, and a link to the license. Indicate any changes made. The following format may be used:
