Article Processing Charges (APCs)

Publication Fees

The Bangladesh Journal of MIS (BJMIS) charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

For articles with authors from more than one country, the applicable rate is determined by the corresponding author’s country of affiliation.

No additional author charges. There are no submission fees, separate editorial processing fees, page charges, colour charges, supplementary-material charges, or withdrawal fees. The APC is the only author charge.

Fee Waivers

BJMIS considers applications for full or partial APC waivers from authors based in low-income economies or facing demonstrable financial hardship.

  • Full waiver: Covers 100% of the APC.
  • Partial waiver: Covers a specified proportion of the APC. The approved reduction and remaining amount payable are communicated to the author in writing.

How to Apply

Authors may upload a fee-waiver application during manuscript submission. The application should:

  1. Specify whether a full or partial waiver is requested.
  2. Explain the reason for the request and describe the author’s financial circumstances.
  3. Indicate whether institutional or research funding is available.
  4. Include supporting documentation where relevant.

Applications are assessed individually, taking account of financial need and available journal subsidies. Authors are notified in writing of the decision, including any approved reduction and the remaining amount payable, before payment is requested.

An approved waiver applies only to the manuscript identified in the approval.

Editorial independence. Waiver applications and authors’ ability to pay do not influence peer review or editorial decisions.

Payment

The APC becomes payable only after formal acceptance. Authors granted a full waiver are not required to pay. Authors granted a partial waiver pay only the confirmed remaining amount.

Payment Confirmation

After payment, email managing.editor.bjmis@du.ac.bd with the following information:

  • Subject: Payment Confirmation – [Manuscript ID]
  • The manuscript ID and article title.
  • The corresponding author’s full name.
  • A copy of the payment receipt or transaction confirmation.

The editorial office will verify the payment and provide an acknowledgment within three to five working days.

Free Access for Readers

All published articles are immediately available to readers free of charge, without registration, subscription, or an embargo. Reader access is unaffected by whether the APC is paid in full, reduced, or waived.
